Susquehanna Riverlands brand

Advertisement Designs

holberg design recently helped to develop a new name, visual identity and brand for the lower Susquehanna River corridor… Susquehanna Riverlands. This effort has been focused around a PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR) Conservation Landscape initiative.

The goals of this large landscape project include improving public access to the river, preserving environmentally sensitive areas, preserving the forested river landscape, improving water quality, providing additional land and water based recreational opportunities, and revitalizing the Rivertown communities of Marietta, Columbia, and Wrightsville. In 2013, the Conservancy officially became the lead organization for the Susquehanna Riverlands. Even though we are the lead organization, we have many partners and advocates that help us accomplish the goals in the work plan. More about the Riverlands program.

The new brand was introduced to the organization and is ready to be launched into the community. The Conservancy reviewed several local marketing firms and selected holberg design to help with marketing the new Riverlands entity. Some of these early marketing efforts are website design, photography, maps and brochure development.

We look forward in helping to showcase the great landscape and exploration options that the Susquehanna River corridor has to offer. Check back to see more about this brand.

2013-2014 Nonprofit Annual Report Design

PIRC Annual Report

PIRC (Pennsylvania Immigration Resource Center) is the only service provider in Pennsylvania, and one of only 17 providers in the United States, offering the Legal Orientation Program (LOP) to immigrants in civil detention. The LOP educates immigrants on immigration law, immigration court procedure, and the potential for legal remedies. PIRC provides LOP services to the 800 immigrants in detention at the York County Prison and the 86 family members detained at the Berks County Residential Center, on average each day.

PIRC asked holberg design for help in designing PIRC’s first-ever annual report. PIRC is a remarkable nonprofit, helping many families by offering legal help to immigrants in civil detention. This nonprofit organization has a great mission with extremely dedicated employees – an organization which truly deserves to have a professionally designed nonprofit annual report. However, their budget was modest and they had very little nonprofit marketing dollars to develop an annual report. holberg design worked with PIRC to develop an annual report design that was… smart. Instead of shooting imagery, holberg used stock images that fit the copy. However, all of the images were the same style and had the same theme, making the annual report design cohesive. holberg also mixed PIRC’s own artwork images within the annual report, to help make it unique and colorful. Even the cover image started off as a stock illustration, but was manipulated, to make it unique for PIRC. This again saved hours of work and helped to manage the costs, keeping the nonprofit branding project within budget.

The end result is a professionally designed nonprofit marketing piece that fits the nonprofit brand and gives them an annual report they can be proud of.

Effective Healthcare Advertising

Did you see the Little Winter Champion spots for OSS Health on television? We had the opportunity to work on several TV commercials for this extraordinary healthcare system and they have had a great response. So, we would like to share what makes a good 30 sec spot for healthcare advertising.

First holberg design captured what the healthcare benefits are to their target audience and made sure we hit those points in the advertisement. These key points, like fast service, being open 7 days a week and having orthopaedic experts on site helps set them apart from the emergency rooms. We also wanted to grab the viewer’s, attention so we wrapped the message in a slow motion video of a speculator winter wipeout.

Finally, through marketing and branding meetings we realized that some of this healthcare’s target market did not understand what an “orthopaedic” urgent care center was. So we created the “sprains, twists, and breaks” copy to capture attention and inform.

The final product was a healthcare advertisement that grabbed the viewer’s attention, informed them and did it in a memorable way.

So, what do we have planned for spring? Check back and find out.
